Located just north of Richmond Hill, Aurora is lauded as one of the Greater Toronto Area’s best-kept secrets. In the 1850s, it established itself as a regional business centre. Today, Aurora counts as one of the Greater Toronto Area’s fastest growing communities with a population of over 62,000 residents. Entrepreneurs founded this town in York Region in the early 19th century. They paved the way for present-day Aurora’s thriving and diverse community, which is made up of small and locally owned businesses as well as various corporations. Aurora’s housing market consists of single detached homes and row houses, with most of the local inventory built before or during the 1960s. Known as one of the more upscale places to live in the York Region, Aurora is home to several exclusive neighbourhoods and subdivisions. - Renowned public and private schools. Living in Aurora puts you in close proximity to a great selection of trusted academic institutions. These include St. Andrew’s College, a private day and boarding school for boys. Aurora High School is one of the five publicly funded high schools in Aurora.
- Efficient public transportation. Aurora is served by York Region Transit, which provides several public transit options in and around town. Residents and visitors can choose between YRT buses, light rail, and taxi.
- Fine golf clubs. For the avid golfer or the individual who wants to pursue this popular pastime, Aurora offers many options. These include the elegant Magna Golf Club and its 18-hole golf course, which takes advantage of the town’s natural hilly terrain.
